Arjuna Nritham is a ritual art performed at Bhagavati temples in Kottayam and Alappuzha districts. The art form is based on the belief that Arjuna danced before Goddess Bhadrakaali to appease her. It is also called Mayilpeeli Thookkam as the lower part of garments are made of peacock feathers.
Kerala Tourism, as part of its Virtual Onam 2021 celebrations, has embarked on a unique mission to feature near-extinct traditional art forms of God’s Own Country. This visual treat seeks to bring together Malayalis across the globe during Onam 2021, ushering in the festival season with positivity.
