ഗരുഡൻ പറവ | Garudan Parava | Virtual Onam 2021 | Kerala Tourism

Garudan Parava is a dance form associated with the festivals of Devi temples in the Kuttanad region of Alappuzha district during the months of Makaram [mid-January to mid- February], Kumbham [mid-February to mid-March] and Meenam [mid-March to mid- April]. It is performed by small boys, dressed like Garuda the kite (Lord Vishnu’s mount), flapping their wings around a lighted lamp placed at the centre.

Kerala Tourism, as part of its Virtual Onam 2021 celebrations, has embarked on a unique mission to feature the traditional art forms of God’s Own Country. This visual treat seeks to bring together Malayalis across the globe during Onam 2021, ushering in the festival season with positivity.
