Indian Nationals get Visa on Arrival Facility when traveling to Myanmar
Indian tourists visiting Myanmar get good news, as they are eligible for the visa on arrival facility. In a recent conference India’s Ambassador to Myanmar Vikram Misri announced that Indian Nationals can now avail the visa-on-arrival facility. On arrival at any of the three international airports of Myanmar-Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay, visitors can use the service.
The good news come during the Indian President Ram Nath Kovind’s current five-day visit to Myanmar. Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale sharing the update said, with the visa on arrival for Indians arriving by air, the facility will increase tourism and exchange between the two countries.
With the strong connections built and reinstated by Indian President and the President of Myanmar, there are hopes of bus service operations from Imphal to Moreh and from Mandalay to Tamu. In addition, the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project is in the final stages of completion. Also port operations for the Sittwe Port is in the plans.
To assess examine India’s support for Myanmar’s development, Indian President visited Rice Bio-Park and Advanced Centre for Agricultural Research and Education Nay Pyi Taw. Also, honoring India’s history with Myanmar, The President also met nine surviving veterans of the Indian National Army in Yangon. Reminiscing about Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s contribution and other great leaders of India’s freedom struggle, the national heroes were appreciated.
 and the northern and western regions of Myanmar, there are proposals to connect and also promote connectivity between both the regions.
Also on their tour of Myanmar, President Kovind and First Lady Savita Kovind the itinerary includes visit to the Shri Kali Temple, the Mazaar of last Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar and visit the Dhamma Joti-Vipassana Meditation Centre.
Also on their tour, President and his entourage will inaugurate ‘Enterprise India’ exhibition by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
