Ipoh’s Homey Hostel

In August, I had booked a bunk for 5 nights at Vloft Backpackers Hostel for Myr14/US$3.35 a night; but when I got there, the lady manager said I was the only one staying there, that they also manage Homey Hostel around the corner (it was the same price on Agoda anyway) and said I can move over to there as more people were staying there (+ they probably don’t want an electric bill for empty Vloft….). Ipoh’s Homey Hostel Homey is clean with free tea/coffee/drinking water + 3 toilet/shower combos (maybe not really enough IF the place were completely full but good enough for the times I stayed there in August and again in September). The only complaint about this place and apparently about their other location (other than you need to tell them what time you will arrive when booking so they can be there to let you in – you are told this when booking with Agoda) is that there will be traffic noise from the streets (e.g. Homey Hostel is a corner shophouse) BUT this is noted in Agoda etc reviews – so you can’t complain that you don’t know this and I certainly cannot complain about the price I paid in August/September! 23A, Jalan Theatre, Taman Jubilee, 30300 Ipoh, Perak
