Is two weeks in phuket too long?

This itinerary starts in Bangkok (where most of the country’s international travelers arrive), heads north to Chiang Mai and then further south to the Thai Islands on the west coast in the Andaman Sea. We chose to fly from region to region as it saved us a lot of time considering we only had a short two weeks in Thailand. The country is big, but not too big, so you can visit three (if not four) areas during your two weeks. The Malika Phuket Hotel Set in Phuket Town, 1.8 km from Old Phuket Town, Malika Hotel — SHA Extra Plus offers accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a garden and a terrace.

The journey between Phuket and Krabi is relatively short, so the trip of your trip won’t take much time. Assuming you don’t have a super-short 1-week Thailand itinerary, spend one of your days in Chiang Rai heading north to Mae Sai, then east to Saam Liam Trong Kam (the actual “Golden Triangle Monument”) and south to Chiang Saen. Timing is the most important thing if you only have 10 days in Thailand or less, I wouldn’t bother with Phuket. Novotel Phuket City Phokeethra Hotel Located in the heart of Phuket Town, Novotel Phuket City Phokeethra — SHA Extra Plus features an outdoor pool and 180 stylish rooms and suites.

On the other hand, travelers could certainly use a month (or two weeks) as an opportunity to immerse themselves, be it a relaxing trip through Isaan or a trial run for life in Bangkok. Many travelers to Thailand try to make a choice between these two coastal provinces, and although I have a clear favorite (Krabi, because of the quality of its beaches and its relative crowding compared to Phuket), a lot depends on you. Ideally, you can spend 3 weeks in Thailand, evenly split between Bangkok, the North, and the islands, although shorter trips to Thailand can also be transcendental. For most travelers, two weeks is the minimum time I would recommend in Thailand, especially if you are traveling from a far abroad.

With four days in Phuket, you can get a good feel for the island and maybe visit a few beaches and Phuket town. People often stay in Phuket for 4 days because it allows them to combine multiple destinations in Thailand, usually Bangkok, Chiang Mai and sometimes Koh Samui.
