Jumeirah Group has announced the opening of the all-villa Jumeirah Bali resort offering luxury and tranquillity on the south-west coast of the island.
The hospitality group’s first resort in Indonesia, Jumeirah Bali will pair tropical modernism with an idyllic setting amid lush greenery and overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Fusing the indoor and outdoor environments
Jumeirah Bali is now welcoming its first guests to its all-villa enclave in the coveted beach area of Uluwatu. Inspiration taken from Hindu-Javanese culture is seen in each corner of this nature-immersed property designed for couples, groups and solo travellers looking to reconnect and find inner balance.
The resort is reminiscent of Geoffrey Bawa’s ‘tropical modernism’ in style, designed with indoor-outdoor spaces fusing the architecture, interiors and lush landscape and pairing indigenous materials with contemporary luxury. Guests have exclusive access to a private beach.
José Silva, chief executive officer of Jumeirah Group, commented: “Bali is well-known for its captivating beauty and rich cultural heritage that sets it apart from the rest of the archipelagos around the world.”
“Jumeirah Bali is a first-of-its-kind concept that embodies the spirit of the province with our unmatched hospitality, providing guests a truly unique and memorable experience to reconnect with nature. The resort adds another feather to Jumeirah Group’s growing international portfolio providing a multicultural hospitality destination, integrating sustainability, culture and wellness.”
Gastronomy and wellness with a view
The resort encompasses 123 clifftop one- and two-bedroom villas and a four-bedroom Royal Water Palace, all of which feature a private pool and outdoor living area with ocean and garden views.
Master Chef Vincent Leroux oversees the resort’s three ocean-view restaurants and bars: the June-opening AKASA Gastro Grill for a culinary experience highlighting ancient cooking methods in a sunset-facing dining space with specialist mixologist and DJ, the oceanfront dining spot SEGARAN for farm-to-table Balinese and Southeast Asian cuisine and MAJA Sunset Pool Lounge for cocktails and finger food by one of the infinity pools.
The resort is also home to Jumeirah’s award-winning Talise Spa, which is launching fully in July, offering therapies based on ancient Balinese techniques and featuring the only traditional Turkish hammam on the island, as well as a sauna, steam bath and Vichy shower treatments. Guided meditation and yoga classes are led by the resident Master Yogi.
Guests can make use of the resort’s modern fitness centre, set out along hiking trails and enjoy the resort’s infinity pools and kids’ club.
The resort is operated with sustainability in mind and support is given to the local community through the Jumeirah Uluwatu Foundation. Ram Hiralal is overseeing the resort as general manager.
