Macao – More Than What The Eyes Can See

If I ask my friends what they think Macao (formerly spelled as Macau) has to offer, what most of them would say is that it is the hub of gambling. But in truth, Macao has so much more to offer than just that and this is what I’ve found out when I dug deeper on this administrative region of Southeast China.

Macao Arts Festival

Did you know that Macao hosts the annual Macao Arts Festival? I didn’t either, at first. But when I found out that there are a variety of events included at the Macao Arts Festival, I was intrigued. Especially since I love anything theatretical, musical, dances, visual arts and all that sorts.

This year marks the 400th year of the passing of William Shakespeare, whom we all know is a famous literature writer with his work being shared and used all over the world. This, as well as marking the death of Chinese playwright Tang Xianzu, the Arts Festival is promised to bring many plays and works to the public, including romantic comedies – if not the usual serious Shakespearan romance.

So what are you doing between 30th April to 29th May? Do you have any free time and would love to experience Macao’s Arts Festival as well as the beautiful, clean and safe streeets of Macao with it’s amazing architectural buildings?

If you answer yes, I suggest you book a ticket between those dates to Macao (just as what I would do) and live in Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream (brought by the Shakepeare Theatre Company) or enjoy The Legend Of The Purple Hairpin (by maestro Chu Chan Wa) and many others.

I am so excited for this!
