Nasi Aruk Dabai/Penyaram at Restoran Dapur Sarawak

Restoran Dapur Sarawak is a Sarawakian restaurant roughly between the Titiwangsa Lake Gardens & monorail station (IF walking to the park). This is Nasi Aruk Dabai (Nasi Aruk is fried rice where no oil is used for frying and ingredients are garlic, onion and anchovies. Dabai is some sort of fruit that resembles an olive and grows in Borneo), three layer tea (seems to not be so popular in KL anymore as I don’t see it that much vs. bubble tea etc) and a penyaram (made from rice flower and eaten in Brunei and the Malaysian state of Sabah in Borneo). One can get other Sarawak food like mee kolok (noodles), mee jawa (more noodles), laksa Sarawak, crispy tomato mee (hard crispy noodles in tomato sauce) etc in food courts in bigger malls around KL (e.g. Bukit Bintang)… The place was fairly busy for a late Sunday afternoon and they do alot of takeout – supposedly its one the best restaurants in Kuala Lumpur for Sarawak food….
