I booked 3 nights (including the Malaysia day holiday) on Agoda at the Sojourn Beds & Cafe for Myr133 total and then Sunday night for Myr38 – I was the only person in the room the whole time (although there were more guests Friday night in other rooms). The owner was very nice and this is the only hostel (fairly comfortable/clean) in Taiping. She said that full would mean as many as 16 people – usually with a few foreigners as there is some sort of Buddhist place nearby where the foreigners usually go to.
