Taoist Trances, Piercings, Fire Dragon & Procession for Zhang Gong Sheng Jun (張公聖君)

Taoist god 張公聖君 / Zhang Gong Sheng Jun’s multi-day birthday celebration ended on the last day with trances, piercings (20:10 mark), politicians giving speeches, a fire dragon (apparently done once every 8 years) that was then burned in the street (I was too tired to see the rest of the effigies burned this time) and an extra longer than usually “Harmony Walk” procession around the neighborhood (2 round trips – Jalan Bukit Bintang the first time around and the second via Jalan Alor). Like last year, a crane was used to lift the temple god onto a float so he can check out the neighborhood and then he had to be lifted back into the temple.
