“The World’s Best Hotel” is opening a resort in an Indonesian hotspot – The Brag
NIHI, a five-star resort located on the island of Sumba, is opening a new hotel in Indonesian tourist hotspot, Flores.
NIHI Sumba won Travel and Leisure’s “Best Hotel in the World” for two consecutive years and is regularly frequented by celebrities and billionaires. Brody Jenner & Kaitlynn Carter held their wedding at NIHI Sumba in 2018, and Heidi Klum, Christian Bale and David and Victoria Beckham have all visited the holiday hotspot.
The resort has luxury private ocean-view villas, all fitted with elaborate decor and private pools that cost thousands of dollars a night to rent.
Now, the popular resort is opening up a second hotel in Labuan Bajo, Flores. Flores is an Indonesian island that’s a quick one-hour flight from Denpasar airport in Bali. The island has become very popular with tourists in recent years, largely due to its incredible sea life in the marine park and being the only place in the world where Komodo Dragons live.

The new resort, Kodi Bajo, will open its doors in Indonesian summer 2023, which is between June and August. Kodi Bajo will be located a short drive away from the main strip of Flores and overlooks islands and the marine national park.
“Our first 129 room resort overlooks the sugar white sands of UNESCO Komodo National Park. Our guests can dive into coral garden in the exotic waters of Labuan Bajo, trek to hidden waterfalls, relax poolside at the beach club and stargaze from their own bedroom,” the resort said in a statement.
The resort chain will open an additional smaller hotel on Rote island, which is also located in Indonesia, called Kodi Bo’a. The new offering is described as; “a stunning escape on a secluded corner of Indonesia’s remote Rote Island in West Timor, with 24 thatched pool villas and highly sought-after world-class surfing wave in front of Bo’a beach.
“Horseback ride through breath-taking vistas, stand-up paddle clear turquoise lagoons, soak up the sunset vibes at the Beach Club and sample fine-dining at the resort’s destination restaurant from famed Bali operators, Sardine.”
