What is the best part of phuket to stay?

Rawai is one of my favorite areas in Phuket, it is approx.. Rawai is a place where you can relax on the beach, with very few people nearby and finally relax and unwind instead of being crowded in Patong. Rawai is also a great place to stay in Phuket for honeymooners.. South of Kamala is Patong, the most popular tourist destination in Phuket.

It is home to Thailand’s (and Asia)’s most famous party scene. Here you will find a good selection of bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants. It is the first choice for staying in Phuket for backpackers nightlife. Here you can find more mid-range hotels and are close to the city’s most popular tourist beach. Mai Khao is a beach with a tranquil atmosphere.

Mai Khao Beach stretches along the northwest coast of the city and is one of the best places to stay in Phuket for those who want to feel a bit isolated. There isn’t much noise here, especially compared to the other busy parts of the island. Patong Beach attracts younger travelers in particular due to the party atmosphere. However, there are also plenty of activities for couples and families.

The northern and southern ends of the beach tend to be quieter and more relaxed, away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip. Kata Beach has a well-deserved reputation of being one of the most family-friendly resorts in Phuket, making it the second most popular accommodation. The pristine beach and clear sea are perfect for spending a day outdoors enjoying the sand and warm waters. There are some excellent snorkeling spots and snorkeling equipment is cheap to rent.

It is also a popular beach with surfers.. The town itself is very easy to walk and is a great location for travelers who want to have all their amenities within easy reach.. Although Kata Beach tends to be less noisy and crowded than Patong Beach, it is quite crowded during peak season.. That said, you can always brave the heat and crowds when you return to your hotel, and there are plenty of different accommodation types to choose from..

There are a variety of restaurants and souvenir shops scattered across the resorts and hotels, and there are also plenty of great nightspots.. Karon Beach is the best place in Phuket for beach lovers. The long and wide beach is located between Patong Beach and Kata Beach and never feels overly crowded, and you can always find a more secluded spot. The sand is backed by dense greenery, which helps to limit noise from the road.

Snorkeling and scuba diving are some of the most popular activities. Many shops, bars and restaurants are also just a short walk away. As soon as the sun sets, night markets prepare for the evening and the city’s nightlife opens its doors. Karon Beach is a fantastic spot for all types of travelers — from families to honeymooners to backpackers — and there is a range of accommodations to suit all budgets.

You’ll still have access to all the facilities and services you need while enjoying a quieter atmosphere. To get closer to the action, you should be on the beach road. Nai Harn Beach is located in the very south of the island and is a special place as it is not overly developed. Tucked away between green cliffs and surrounded by dense greenery, the long and wide beach offers plenty of space for everyone, even in high season.

Snorkeling is a popular activity here because of the clear water, and the soft white sand is also perfect for lounging and sunbathing.. From November to April, the waters of Nai Harn Beach are good for swimming. However, from May to October, the rougher water is great for surfing and kite surfing. Although it is a quieter beach, there are still plenty of restaurants, shops and hotels for a complete vacation experience.

If you are staying in the Nai Harn Beach area, it is also highly recommended to take the short, 10-minute drive to Karon Viewpoint. From this incredible vantage point, you can see three beautiful beaches and their coves at a glance. It makes for some really spectacular photos.. Rawai Beach is also in the south of Phuket.

It is a quiet place that cannot be found on too many tourist routes as it is not a swimming beach and there is not much nightlife. However, this charming resort was actually the very first tourist beach on the island.. It’s an ideal place to stay if you’re looking for a more local vibe.. It’s also one of the best places to try fresh seafood, thanks to the fantastic fish market and plenty of local restaurants..

The beach itself offers great views of the turquoise waters and nearby islands.. It is also a starting point for various island-hopping boat tours. If you’re looking for a swimming beach, Nai Harn Beach is just a short drive away on the other side of the peninsula. Many other attractions in southern Phuket are easily accessible from Rawai Beach, making this a great base for a variety of day trips.

Kamala Beach is another top option for those looking for a quieter and more relaxed time.. It is just north of Patong Beach and has a very family-friendly vibe that is also popular with older tourists, meaning that there aren’t very many nightlife options. Instead, visitors come here to spend a relaxing day on the idyllic beach, or head into town to pamper themselves at the spa.. There are also plenty of restaurants right on the beach that serve delicious local cuisine, so you won’t have to go far to grab a bite to eat.

Once a very exclusive area with mostly luxury resorts, Bangtao Beach has become a lively city with accommodation options for various budgets. There’s a sophisticated nightlife that’s usually quite affordable too, and that’s a lot tamer than what you’ll find on Patong Beach. At 3.7 miles, the beach is also the second longest stretch of sand in Phuket, and you’ll never have to search very much for a secluded spot on the sand. You’ll also find some of the island’s best beach clubs.

southern part of the region is home to many three and four star hotels, some cool beach clubs and an old fishing village further inland. About in the middle of the beach is Laguna Phuket — a large 1000 hectare property with seven high-end hotels built around an inland lake.. The famous (or notorious, depending on who you ask) Patong Beach is home to the highest density of clubs and bars on the island. So if you’re looking to party, this is the place for you.

It also happens that there is a stunning white sandy beach there, as the name suggests.. And the best place to stay would be Amari Phuket. This hotel is one of the best resorts on the island and has it all, whether you’re looking for luxury accommodation with world-class amenities or something a little more adventurous.. The hotel has 380 well-appointed rooms and suites (many of which have ocean views) and is just a five-minute walk from Patong Beach.

There is also a spa, three restaurants, two bars, and plenty of activities to make your trip to Phuket memorable. There are 2 nice local markets that you should visit for shopping in Karon. You can visit Karon Market and Karon Temple Market on Tuesday and Friday to buy tropical fruits, clothes, and souvenirs. Karon is one of the best places to stay in Phuket as you won’t be bombarded with as many tourist shows and you can find nice accommodation at a better price compared to other parts of the island.

Sounds tempting doesn’t it? This luxurious beachfront resort features 2 outdoor pools, a fantastic spa and an on-site bar and restaurant. The fantastic resort has rooms with balconies and even private pools in the deluxe rooms, making it a very nice place to stay in Patong.. Kata is located on the west coast of the island, right next to Karon and 10 km (7 mi) from Patong Beach. It’s the coolest neighborhood in Phuket thanks to its trendy restaurants, bars, beautiful beachfront spa resorts and stunning white sand beaches dotted with palm trees.

If you want to stay in a cool area, Kata is the place for you in Phuket.. Located on the west coast of the island and just 5 km (3 miles) north of Kamala Beach. Bangtao is a very laid-back beach town. It is a less touristy area with beautiful, quiet beaches and luxurious beach hotels, perfect for those who want to leave the hustle and bustle of crowded cities behind.. Bangtao Beach is also the second longest beach in Phuket, but that doesn’t mean you won’t find some upscale restaurants and cafes in central Bangtao either.

If you drive 15 km (10 miles) north of Bangtao Beach, you can also reach Sirinat National Park, where you can spot turtles and many rare bird species. It is a fantastic national park to spend some time in nature and round off a perfect vacation.. This lovely hotel has 2 fantastic pools surrounded by palm trees and offers a free shuttle to the beach. Tuk-tuks in Phukettuk-tuk is a three-wheeled motor vehicle and you can see it in many South Asian countries.. It is a fun and unique vehicle that you should experience in Thailand.

Tuk-tuk is generally cheaper than taxis. However, as tuk-tuks don’t have a meter, you’ll need to agree the price with the driver before you ride.. It would be helpful to use your negotiation skills at this stage.. To give you an idea, a 10-minute drive usually costs around THB 200. You should stay at least 3 days to enjoy Phuket.

If you’re staying longer, there’s plenty to do, such as temples, stunning beaches to explore, and some activity tours to do. In this blog post, I’ve covered the best areas to stay in Phuket and mentioned the nicest Thai-style hotels and Airbnbs in each area. Karon BeachI’ve already mentioned Karon as a place to stay in Phuket, but I’d like to mention a few more highlights of this beautiful beach as it deserves to be on this list even if you’re not staying there.. With multiple places to stay in Phuket, you won’t run out of choices whether you’re on a budget or don’t mind spending some money.

In addition to the airport, JW Marriott Phuket Resort is one of the few places to stay in Phuket on Mai Khao beach.

The weekend night markets are in Phuket Town, a pretty cheap taxi ride from wherever you are staying, or check if your hotel is heading to Phuket town or Central Festival. From there, you can take a taxi there (just a few minutes). We have 2 nights and 1 full day in Phuket Plan a visit (day trip) to Phi Phi Island as well Please suggest which is the best area to visit Phi Phi Island. If you only have one day in Phuket and want to save time commuting around the island, Mai Khao Beach is one of the places to stay in Phuket closest to the airport. Thanks to the world-famous party scene, my answer to where to stay in Phuket for nightlife is definitely Patong.

My husband and I (early 30s) will travel to Phuket, arrive at the airport later in the night and only stay 1 night to get off and visit other surrounding areas.
